spider vein removal

This cosmetic treatment performed with out Nd:Yag laser uses a focused beam of light to target the vein that is selected for treatment, and because the beam is focused it is careful not to affect nearby skin, tissue and veins. As the laser heats up the vein is destroyed, then, over a period of four to six weeks, the vein is reabsorbed by the body and reduces over a period of time. In some cases, the vein can even disappear.

+ What is a spider vein?

Spider veins are smaller, red, purple, and blue vessels and are easily visible through the skin. This is not to be mistaken for a reticular vein, that is very large and swollen and typically has a blue appearance deeper into the skin. Spider veins are typically the most common on the legs and face.

+ Does it hurt?

This treatment can be slightly uncomfortable due to the laser penetrating the superficial blood vessel. However, the cooling agent that we have attached to our laser makes this treatment more comfortable for our clients.

+ How many treatments will be needed?

Depending on the size and number of veins, two to six treatments will be needed. The treatments are usually done 4-6 weeks apart. Those with a tendency towards vascular problems will most likely require additional treatments.

+ How much does it cost?

Because of the broad range of sizes and areas that could be treated, this will require a consultation to receive accurate pricing. An average cost can be anywhere from $100-$200 per session.

+ What can i expect after my treatment?

Soon after the procedure, you may feel a slight bump on the skin; it should disappear hours after treatment. The area may also appear slightly redder and occasionally may be bruised.
